More than 80 airport executives and other aviation officials participated in the 2010 International Airport Security Conference, Feb. 15-17, in Queenstown, New Zealand.
The U.S. airport delegation was led by AAAE Chair John Duval, A.A.E., and Bonnie Allin, A.A.E., chair of the International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE).
Key topics that were discussed and debated during the conference included harmonization of international aviation security measures across borders, global aviation security in the aftermath of the Dec. 25 terrorist incident, explosives detection and baggage handling systems update, air cargo security, environmental security, national security identity programs, biometrics for access control, credentialing and passenger facilitation, managing risk and risk assessment for airports and airlines, and airport employee screening and perimeter security.
