top story photo AAAE announced that 37 airports have earned an ANTN Digicast Excellence in Airport Training award for training completed in calendar year 2009.

The 2009 ANTN Digicast Excellence in Airport Training award winners are: Austin-Bergstrom, Blue Grass (Ky.), Centennial (Colo.), Charlotte County (Fla.), Charlottesville-Albemarle (Va.), Cherry Capital (Mich.), Daytona Beach (Fla.), Dothan Regional (Ala.), Evansville Regional (Ind.), Flagler County (Fla.), Fort Wayne-Allen County (Ind.), Gainesville Regional (Fla.), Grand Junction Regional (Colo.), Jackson Municipal (Miss.), John Wayne (Calif.), Kendall-Tamiami Executive (Fla.), Lakeland Linder Regional (Fla.), Little Rock National (Ark.), Morristown Municipal (N.J.), North Texas Regional, Palm Springs (Calif.), Panama City-Bay County (Fla.), Phoenix Sky Harbor, Port Columbus, Purdue University (Ind.), Reno-Tahoe, Republic (N.Y.), Richmond (Va.), Rickenbacker (Ohio), San Angelo Regional (Texas), San Antonio, Scottsdale (Ariz.), Sebring Regional (Fla.), St. George Municipal (Utah), Tallahassee Regional, Tulsa (Operations Division) and Will Rogers (Okla.)

The Excellence in Airport Training award signifies that an airport's workers have completed a certain amount of federally mandated airport-specific and continuing education training using ANTN Digicast's Web-based training system. The award levels are based on total training programs watched and total number of employees trained at each airport. Levels vary based on the airport's hub size. Each winning airport is presented with a plaque marking its achievement.

"AAAE recognizes the Excellence in Airport Training airport award winners' dedication to improving their airports' operations and preparedness through advanced training," said Joan Lowden, AAAE senior vice president of communications and general manager of AAAE's Airport News and Training Network (ANTN) division that produces ANTN Digicast. "More than 200 airports rely on Digicast's Web-based training to satisfy both federally mandated training needs and advanced training curriculum. We're constantly working to make it more valuable to airports seeking simple, cost-saving training solutions."

Airports that subscribe to ANTN Digicast have unlimited access to the service's training programs, which currently number some 500 videos. Topics covered range from FAA-required annual training to security-related training, customer service and more. ANTN Digicast training is designed for airport employees, as well as tenants, such as airline workers, who work at an airport.

The ANTN Digicast video training system provides thousands of airport employees at more than 200 subscribing airports with on-demand video training on every aspect of running an airport: operations, ARFF, security, customer service, human resources and more. ANTN Digicast programming is accessible online via any Web-enabled computer, and the system tracks training on a per-user basis, allowing airports to demonstrate to regulators that their employees have completed required, recurrent training.
